Just to show support for mother’s hurtful comments, mine said to me ‘I never understood what (ex husband) Nick saw in you?’ When I told her (in my post-EMDR adult mentality) ‘Thanks A LOT, what a supportive mother I have! I’m not talking to you if you’re going to be mean’
She came back with ‘Come off it! You know what I mean! I just don’t know why he was attracted to you’
I am so grateful I did EMDR and have dealt with her past verbal stabbing
I'm happy you have a wonderful father-in-law... That longing for a mother's love is so specific and mythical, but genuine love and care from anyone is utterly precious.

I'm sad that she said that to you. I'm so glad EMDR helped you.
I’m so glad he was there for you & offered comforting words 🫶🏻
My FIL is truly a gem.
